The sun is ACTUALLY shining – So let’s get walking.

Alrighty, after what felt like three months of perennial and torrential rain, Mother Nature has finally decided to cut Killarney some slack show off her brighter side. We’ve basked in lustrous sunshine for the past two days and while the future is unknown and unpredictable, let’s make the most of it while we can.

With that in mind, you probably want to experience Killarney in all her majestic wonder now it’s not wet, soggy and mucky and you’re in luck. A new lake and woodland trek has been added just for the month of August. The walks will be held every Wednesday and Saturday this week.

This trek will take you on a boat-ride from Dundag boathouse to Dinis Cottage where you will then hike back along the lower or higher level traverse of Torc Mountain to Muckross Car Park. It’ll take around 2 or 3 hours. Oh, and it only costs €15 which is great value in any man’s language.

The walk is of course guided and it really does follow one of Killarney’s most scenic routes. So if you’re interested, call 1850 566 466 and book at least 24 hours in advance. Ask for the Lake & Woodland Trek.

Oh and just to butter your parsnips further, here’s a snap of just one of the views you’ll be able to feast your eyes upon should you embark on this trek:

Lovely, isn’t it? Can’t say the same for those leggings though.
