As the evenings begin to stretch and the winds begin to ease, Killarney is looking forward to another bumper year of fun. Spring is a beautiful season in Killarney as the National Park begins to flourish once again after a wet winter, the trees welcome back their leaves and the animals of the park welcome some new arrivals. So, after a harsh winter if you want to see some of the best scenery and woodland Ireland has to offer, you know where to go.
And lots of events are on the way too just in case all that scenery isn’t enough for you. Killarney always endures a bit of a sustained hangover after the festive season but like a footballer in pre-season, we’re getting right back into the swing of things.
The Gathering Traditional Festival takes place this week between 20th and 24th of February in the INEC and will see Killarney celebrate all things Irish. There’ll be live music, there’ll be céilís and most importantly there’ll be craic. Check out the programme of events here for more information – http://www.thegathering.ie/programme_concerts.html
