How to enjoy the hot weather in Killarney

Hot enough for you? This week has been a scorcher and it looks set to continue, into next week at least. With that in mind, here’ s a few attractions Killarney has to offer that would be most enjoyable during this hot weather.

1. Dundag

Killarney is about 40 miles inland but that doesn’t mean we don’t have a beach (of sorts)! Dundag lies on the shore of Muckross Lake and is a very short walk from Muckross House. It’s got sand, it’s got water and it’s got plenty of kids running around wreaking havoc. It is a beach. It gets busy during the day when the weather is hot so Dundag would be perfect early morning or late evening.

2. Killarney Aerial Adventure Course

If you’re an active type and want to challenge yourself in the scorching heat then you should pop over to the Killarney Aerial Adventure Course. It’s in Fossa and is only a three minute walk from the Travel Inn hotel. There you’ll be able to tangle with high ropes and swoop across the air with zip-wires. Fun for all ages. 3. Kennedy’s Pet Farm

Kennedy’s farm is a veritable Killarney institution. It’s four miles from Killarney on the Cork road and very easy to find. If you have kids this place is perfect. There’s a variety of animals, some farmyard, some not-so-farmyard, including rabbits, chickens, deer and pigs. There’s a large indoor playground facility and plenty of places for the adults to relax and unwind. For more information check out    – http://www.kennedyspetfarm.com/index.html
