Celtic Steps
If traditional Irish music and raucous Irish dancing are your thing then you should check out the highly acclaimed show Celtic Steps which has recently opened in the INEC for its summer run. The popular show is now in its 3rd season as resident show in the INEC and has garnered rapturous praise from tourists and locals alike.
The show is a showcase of the diverse history and culture of Irish music and dancing throughout the years – from its ancient roots in sean-nós to the more modern incarnations of Irish dancing. It doesn’t follow a linear or chronological process however but blends them together seamlessly so you can experience the full power of traditional Irish arts. The show has attracted scores of supremely talented dancer and musicians including five time world champion Irish dancer David Geaney who will be reprising his role this year.
The show has began its summer run and will continue until September so you have plenty of time to catch it whether you’re visiting Killarney now or sometime later in the summer. It runs weekdays Monday-Thursday and also on Sundays. You can find a full calendar for the show’s performances here. Tickets cost €27.65 and can be purchased in the INEC box office. If you’re not entirely convinced you should check out the tripadvisor reviews, which you can find here , where the show is ranked #2 out of all attractions in Killarney.
